Metal Smithing takes an incredible amount of time and wreaks havoc with your body. I loved it nonetheless. Smithing is not only meditative, but it is a wonderful aggression release. What better way to soothe one's troubled soul than to pound an unwilling piece of metal into submission. I was never rich enough to smith gold, but I tried everything else imaginable. These pieces are some of my favorites.
The piece above is entitled "Aine." It is sterling silver with 14 carot gold Kum Bo. This piece took approximately 900 hours to complete. Obviously, no one is going to pay me what it's worth so it will remain in my collection until such time as I give it to my daughter, Lenore Aine.
