O well done! I commend your pains;
And every one shall share i' the gains;

Rhiannon

Paper making is a great deal of work and for the most part I have limited it to making sheets to be used in artist's books. However, I do have a limited number of sculptures. The image at the top is titled "Rhiannon" and is from the private collection of Lenore MacLeod-Bickley. The paper is native flax.
"Earth Mother" is sculptured amate paper with smithed copper and the small pins, entitled "Foliage" are handmade flax paper with titanium wire.
The bowl in the center is entitled "Samhainn" and is sculptured banana paper and tomato stalks. The piece on the right is named "Grief". It is flax paper and leaves from plants gleaned from my Uncle Rod's funeral. I learned that grief is a process of peeling away layers of pain and replacing them with acceptance, not always understanding but often just figuring out that it is what it is.
