I fell in love with baskets while visiting a lovely little woman named Janey on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. It took me another ten years before I got around to actually learning how to do it myself. Basketry, like metal smithing is very meditative. It is repetitive, soothing, and gratifying. Baskets can be made of anything that is flexible enough, or can be made flexible enough to weave. I make lots of baskets, but I don't always take photos of them. Here are some that I did make note of.
