O well done! I commend your pains; And every one shall share i' the gains;
A natural extension of making paper is making books to put the paper in. Artist's Books are a fairly new medium. These compositions are content driven. The idea dictates what the structure will be. It can be a simple codex, a scroll, or a wildly imaginative sculpture. The materials have no limit nor do the ideas that form them. They only have to have an essence of bookness about them. Of course when one gives such a simple definition, it means there will be all kinds of controversy and lots of argument as to what is an artist's book and what is simply sculptural. Unfortunately, there are those who would rather argue about the merits of art than create art. I'm not one of them. If you say it's a book then it's a book.
